About the team
AUSTRALIAN CHAMPION RIDER
Virtuosic show jumper Kermond has riveted fans from Paris to Melbourne. From winning the Six Bar prestigious Longines Global Champions Tour in front of the Eiffel Tower to recently clearing the rails for back-to-back wins of the Australian Senior Show Jumping Championship Title, Kermond is a highly adept and stylish rider to watch. This year Kermond placed fourth at the Hong Kong Masters and finished in the top 30 in the World Cup in Paris.
The Payne family are synonymous with stratospheric racing success. Patrick Payne had his first ride at 14 and enjoyed a very successful career as a flat and jumps jockey before making a smooth transition into training full time in 2007. Payne has prepared more than 330 winners since 2008 with the range of his success showing the Plumpton trainer’s talent with all kinds of horses.
Jump Off Horses
This New Zealand import now belongs to Paddy Payne’s sister, and Melbourne Cup winning jockey, Michelle Payne. A keen show jumper herself and well aware of Peacefuleasyfeelin’s potential, Michelle tried her best to hide the 8yr old gelding from her brother but Paddy found him in the back paddock and recruited him for Jump Off! He has a face only a Mother could love but it’s clear why Peacefuleasyfeelin quickly won over Jamie Kermond with his fantastic temperament and trainability. From the start Jamie identified this horse had a good brain for this competition, he’s also very kind and giving

Orange, Dark Green Seams
When Jamie Kermond first met this 6yr old gelding, it was clear he’d been enjoying life in a good paddock at Paddy’s property. He’d been having such a good time in fact, it took some time for the team to find a girth that would fit Raposo who Jamie likened to a big barrel. The big bay barrel quickly impressed though showing potential for a balanced canter and excellent temperament. With some city racing under his belt, Raposo is a horse that Team Kermond are hopeful will take the training schedule and atmosphere at local shows and the grand final in his stride.

Weissmuller quickly impressed Jamie Kermond and Paddy Payne showing great jumping potential and is an easy going temperament in the paddock. He may take a little bit longer to pick things up than the other horses in Team Kermond/Payne but he always tries his best and has the best canter of the three horses in the team. He’s a beautiful big type with an affectionate nature which makes him a very easy horse to have around the stable
